THE WEST COAST.

IMPORTANT PROM PATEA. DISAPPEARANCE OP THE HATJ-HAUS. By the arrival of the p.s. Sturt we learn that the rebels have entirely disappeared from the Ketemarai district, and no idea could be formed as to where they had gone. His Excellency the Governor having made that dis trict too hot for them, and being at fault as to their locality, had come down to Wanganui intending at first to return to Wellington by the Sturt; but, from information received there, was induced to proceed up the Wanganui river to Taupo. There is reason to fear that the rebels are concentrating their forces in the interior, preparatory to an attack upon some of the settlements. Possibly, Hawke’s Bay may shortly hear of the them again.
