By her we ( I learn that the s.s. Albion had arrived at the ! Bluff at 6'30 on Monday morning. We , haste to lay the following telegrams before our readers. We take them from an Advertiser Extra issued on Monday last: — Bluff, 19th Nov. The s.s. Albion arrived at the Bluff this morning at 6‘30, after a very stormy passage. The s.s. Geelong, Captain Okottowe, anchored in Hobson’s Bay on Sunday, the 11th inst., at 6 p.m., with the September mail from England on board. The negotiations for peace successfully carried out, end no further signs of war in Europe. The peace treaty between Austria has been signed. The Atlantic cable is still working. President Johnson is unpopular. Relations between England and America most friendly. Commercial news favorable, and bank rate of discount lower. Wool and copper are higher. Latest prices, consols 89, last rate discount 4| per cent. Latest wool market, firm in price, three half-pence higher. Great famine in India. GENERAL SUMMARY. The French Government has issued a circular to the representatives of Foreign Courts on the present state of affairs. It is pacific. Peace between Prussia and Saxony is not yet concluded. Saxony giving no signs of adhesion. American cotton crops reported to be very bad. ~ , , The Liverpool and Manchester markets are firm, and prices advancing. Enthusiastic meetings in favor of reform are being held in the Metropolis and the Pro- ■ vinces. A treaty of alliance has been concluded between England and Madagascar. There has been a terrific explosion in Chatham dockyard. Two men were killed, , and thirty injured. FRANCE. The Emperor went to Biaritz on the 20th ; September; his health greatly improved | there. M. Drouyn D’Lhuys has resigned his i post as Minister of Foreign Affairs, but has i been appointed a Member of the Privy Coun- ’ cil. He is succeeded by the Marquis De ’ Manstaer. \ Austrian retrenchment has commenced. ; The Court expenditure has been reduced one- > half. The army is to be reduced to a peace ' footing. | The German population of Austria are r taking steps for preserving their connection > with Germany. 3 Serious disturbances have taken place in [ Sicily. The insurgents took up intrenched positions in Palermo. Government acted f with great energy. Troops were landed, and 3 after several days’ fighting obtained full posfc session of the city, dispersed the insurgents * and arrested 200 of them. A large quantity t of fire-arms were seized. 1 PRUSSIA. 3 The new German Parliament will meet in * two months at Berlin. The Assembly will . comprise deputies from all the States'of the Northern Confederation. The debate on the Indemnity Bill was re--2 sumed in the Chamber of Deputies on Sept. 8 3rd.
