P. W. S. Benner, left Auckland at 3-30 a.m. on the 26th ult.; arrived at Tauranga at 0 a.m.; left there at 9-30 am., and arrived in the roadstead at 13-30 on the 28th. Had fine weather for the first part of the passage; remainder, strong head and variable winds. The Stab, or the Evening (b.)—-This steamer arrived here on Friday morning last, from Wellington, having left that port on Thursday. She will leave for Lyttelton with a cargo of cattle this day. She seems to be well fitted for the conveyance of live stock; and. in appearance greatly resembles the Star of the South; indeed, it would be dimeu't to distinguish them apart. Tho s.s. Wellington steamed for Wellington on Saturday afternoon, - ■ . . v The as. Lord Ashley is due from the South tomorrow, fihe win probably be the bearer cf the Panama mail. The s.a. Star of the South, with a cargo of sheep, steamed for Auckland on Friday last. - ' The s.s. Star of the Evening, with a cargo of cattle, leaves for Lyttelton this day. The brigantine Balmoral wiilleave for Hobart Town this day. The cutter Dolphin, from Wairoa, arrived here on Saturday morning last. The schooner Celt sailed for Auckland with a cargo of cattle, on Friday last. The schooners Queen and Joanna, with cattle, and cutter Eagle, in ballast, hence 30th ult, all arrived at Auckland on the 24th. having experienced very heavy weather. Both cattle vessels landed their cargoes in good order and with* out loss. H.M.S.S. Challenger arrived at Sydney on the 14th ult.
