IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Regulation of Elections Act, 1853,” I, John Curling, Esq., Returning OUlcer for the Electoral District of Napier, do lierby give notice that by virtue cf a Writ, bearing date the fifth day of September, 1866, issued under the hand of his Honor the Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for the said Electoral District, in lieu of JOHN BUCHANAN, Esq., resigned ; and that the nomination of Candidates will take place at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Napier, at noon, on WEDNESDAY, the nineteenth day of September, 1863; and that the Poll (if necessary) will bo taken on THURSDAY, the twentieth day of September, 1866; and that the state of the Poll will be declared at the close thereof.
