The schooner Tawera, Kennedy, master, left Auckland on the 25th nit., with fine weather, wind westerly, which continued till reaching Waiapu on the 29tb, where she discharged 0 tons of stores for use of colonial forces stationed there. While lying at anchor there, the wind suddenly veered round to the southward, blowing hard. In consequence of the heavy sea parted cable and lost an anchor. Lett for Poverty Bay on the 30th. Arrived there on the Ist iust;, discharged about 30 tons goods, and left for this t ort on the 4th. Dropped anchor in the roadstead at a a.m. on 6th. She came in ballast, hut brought eight passengers—i Europeans and 4 natives. ARRIVAL OF THE QUERY. The schooner Queen, IPLeod, master, 'arrived in the roadstead at 4 p.m on Thursday, 6th iust. She left Wangapoa on the 2nd—light south-west wind. Hounded East Cape on the 4th; passed Portland Island on the sth ; and arrived here as above, after a fair run of four days. Cargo: 35,200 feet timber. 1 passenger. ARRIVAL OF THE JOANNA. The schooner Joanna. loverock, master, left Auckland on the 23th ult.; arrived at Mercury Bay on the 29ch. Took in 2.000 feet of timber; and left for Napier on the 4th inst. Had flue westerly and north-west winds throughout; and arrived in the roadstead at 10 p.m. on Friday, 7thinEt., after a good run of three days. Cargo: 26.000 ft timber, 20,000 shingles, 2,0-00 palings, and B quantity of general merchandise. 2 passengers. Captain Loverock reports as follows:—Off Portland Island on the 6th spoke the schooner Aspasia, Captain Sullivan, from Canterbury, hound for Auckland. The same day (Oth) saw the schooner William and Julia, hence 2nd inst., with cattle, at anchor under the East Cape. The schooner Saucy Lass, il'Ktnzie, hauled into the Joanna’s berth, when that vessel was leaving Mercury Bay, and was to load limber for this port. The brig Eita was also taking in timber for Sydney, and had just about completed her loading when the Joanna left on the 4th inst. MISCELLANEOUS. The cutter Eagle, Garland, master, arrived here from Auckland via the Coast, with a full cargo of timber on Saturday last. The schooner Eose Ann, Jones, master, from Auckland, arrived here yesterday morning. She was bound for Warroa with a full cargo, and arrived off that place on Saturday, but finding an insufficiency of water on the bar to enter, came on to Napier. The cutter Dolphin and ketch H ero both arrived here on Friday morning last, from Wairoa. The cutter Mahia is expected to leave for Blackhead this day. The s.s. Taranaki steamed for Southern Ports on Thursday last, at noon, In ballast. She took eleven passengers. The s.s. Star of the South steamed for Auckland on Thursday last, with 119 head of cattle, 31 calves, and 160 Sheep. She also took seven passengers. The cutter Satellite sailed for Auckland yesterday morning, with 13 head cattle. The ss; lord Ashley, is due from Auckland on Friday next, I4th inst.; and will leave for the South, with the English mail via Suez, on Saturday, 15th inst., at noon. The as, Wellington is due from Southern Ports on Tuesday, 18th inst., and will leave for Tauranga and Auckland on Wednesday, 19th inst. | iThe schooner Tawera sailed for Auckland, with leave to call at Poverty Bay, on Friday last, 7lh instant, with a large quantity of stores. The schooner Joanna will, we learn, leave for Auckland on Wednesday next, 12th inst., with a cargo of store cattle, Bad will, it is expected, take about 50 head.
