[Peb Submarine and Inter-provincial Telegraph.] Hokitika, Sept. 2, 5T7 p.m. The steamer Otago, Captain Eandall, from Melbourne, arrived hero to-day, at noon, with 230 passengers, after a quick passage of four days and a-half. Christchurch. Sept. 3, 3 - 47 p.m. _ The steamer Wellington, Captain Benner, arrived at Lyttelton yeslerday from the North, and sailed for the South this day at noon. Ship Brierly Hill arrived at Dunedin from London, 115 davs out; all well. Nelson, September 3, 7T5 p.m. _ The steamer Claud Hamilton sailed for Sydney via Hokitika on Saturday. The steamer Otago, from Melbourne, due, will arrive here to-morrow. She arrived off Hokitika on Saturday. The rush of diggers from Australia is beginning to set in to the West Coast. Several hundred have arrived in the Gothenburg and Otago. No other news.
