The Future of New Zealand. —It is often of advantage to know what others think of us, and opportunities sometimes occur to impart this knowledge. Wo give to-day the opinion of a Victorian contemporary, which must be read with a feeling of gratification by all who desire the advancement of the Colony. We, however, must demur to the concluding sentence as an altogether unwarrantable deduction from the premises. New Zealand as one Colony will attain to greater eminence among the countries of the world than she could if divided. It is as if England > and Scotland must separate rather than unite in order to constitute the kingdom of Great Britain, which is most absurd.
