The Berlin correspondent of the Times men. tiona as a fact that Queen Victoria has addressed an autograph letter to the King of Prussia, in which her Majesty is said to have pleaded the cause of peace and of the Duke of Augustenburg. On the same authority we are told that Count Bismark has given the first public symptom of his incipient conversion to Liberal principles. Six gentleman of Liberal polities who had been elected by the Berlin Town Council to honorary municipal offices have obtained the requsite confirmation of the Crown, and this is the first instance of Liberals being confirmed in publio offices since the accesion of the Bismark Cabinet to power. Death of Me M'lntvee, the Leadeb of the Leichhabdt Seaeoh Expedition. —The Port Denison Times June 30th, acknowledges receipt of the following information, dated, Marathon, 15th June, relative to the death of Mr M'lntyre, the explorer:—“ On Monday, 4th June, at two minutes to six, M‘lntyro, the leader of the Leichhardt Search Expedition, breathed his last at Q-il-liott Creek, near the station of his brother, and is buried ou the east bank of a large lagoon in that locality. He suffered from fever, which he is supposed to have caught in Burke Town.!’ Thundeestoem.— The Nelson Colonist says: —“ A severe thunderstorm passed over Nelson on Sunday, 29th July, and raged, accompanied with vivid lightning for several hours ; there was also a heavy fall of rain which flooded the rivers. The thunder peals were frequent loud and long continued; during part of the day from early morning, a strong gale blew with sudden heavy gusts of wind. Towards night the weather cleared, and a beautifully clear and calm night succeeded. The Otago which was fixed to sail on Sunday morning was weather bound and did not leave untu yesterday morning.” Inquest on one of Fux.ioon’3 Musdbebes.— An inquest was held yesterday by Dr Goldsboro’, coroner, in the gaol at Mount Eden, on the body of Tamati 0. Ngatihoko, who died on Wednesday last, of consumption. The evidence adduced was merely that the prisoner was admitted into the infirmary on the 17th of May, and died on the Ist August. Dr Philson, prorincial surgeon, deposed to the causa of death, and Jury returned a verdict of “ Died from natural causes.”->-New Zealand Herald, 4th August.
