Our dates are to the 24th, the day before yesterday. la the Parliament, nothing of great moment had as yet engaged the attention of our legislators; but on Tuesday last a fierce battle was to have commenced in the House of Representatives—Mr Whitaker, the “leader of the Auckland phalanx," opening the debate by moving certain resoutions on the matter of Separation, “ which, if carried, would place Auckland in almost singular position with regard to the rest of the colony."
