AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAMS.
(From the Empire’s Correspondents.) MELBOURNE. 21st June. By the arrival of the steamship Derwent, from Launceston, we have dates to the 12th, and to 18th from Hobart Town. The missionaries from the John Williams were welcomed by a tea meeting given to tiiem ashore. Mr Fysh was elected for Hobart Town, by a majority of ten. The William James and Camans from Tome, and the Yriendeschap and Centaur, from California, have arrived with breadstuff's. Breadstuff's are less firm. Holders of Californian and Chillian wheat are more anxious to sell at from 7s 3d to 7s 6d per bushel. The Queen of Beauty, which went ashore,, yesterday, has been safely towed off’ to-day ADELAIDE. 21st Juno, A sudden speculative demand has sprung up for breadstuff’s. Large sales of wheat have been been effected at 7s.
