EMBARKATION OF ARTILLERY AND ENGINEERS AT AUCKLAND.

(From the New Zealand Herald, 2Sth June.) Shobtlt before noon yesterday, the men of 0 Battery (Mercer’s) Royal Artillery, and No. 6 Company of the Royal Engineers, paraded in the Albert Square, preparatory to embarkation for England. At 1 p.m. the band of the Rifle Volunteers having arrived on the ground, tho march was formed to the Queen-street Wharf, headed bv the A.R.V. band, playing “Home, Sweet Home,’* “ Merry England,’’ “ Auld Lang Syne,” &o. Arrived at the wharf, the launches of U.M.S.S. Esk and Brisk were at the steps in readiness to convey the men on board the good ship Trevelyn, Capt. Gooch, chartered to convoy them home ; and as each boat pushed off with its living freight, they were loudly cheered by the assemblage on the wharf, the band at the same time playing appropriate airs. The most amusing scene of all was the performance on the bagpipes by one of the Royal Engineers, who seemed determined not to be outvied by tho band, and containued playing favorite Scotch airs till long out of hearing. The Trevelyn has been most comfortably fitted up, in Mr Anderson’s usual creditable style; and wo heariily wish and her living freight a prosperous passage home.

Tlio following is a complete list of those proceeding by her ■. —Lieutenants Ferguson and Halkett, Royal Engineers, 6th Company, 93 noncommissioned officers, rank and file, 14 women, 16 children: Mr George Single, wife, and two sons. Invalids, 2 rank and file, I woman, 1 child, Royal Artillery; 1 private, lllh; 1 private, 18th; 7 privates, 1 woman, 2 children, 50th j 6 privates, 57th; and 5 privates, 1 woman, Army Hospital Corps. C. Battery, 4th Brigade, Royal Artillery, 154 rank and file, 15 women, 25 children, and 2 servantstotal, 370. The following officers also proceed in the ship :—Rev. Mr Beaton, Presbyterian Chaplain to the forces, Mrs Beaton; Staff-Surgeon Q-. B. 3?. Arden ; Captain and Mrs Perile, Captain Betty, Surgeon Turner, Lieutenants Campbell and Carre, Veterinary Surgeon Anderson, and Lieutenant Robinson, H.M.S.S. Cara<;oa. Mr onthwaite, junior, and Miss Pikington, also proceed home in the ship a» private passengers. The Trevelyn sails this afternoon.
