ENGLISH NEWS TO 12th MAY.

The arrival of tbe s.s. Lady Bird this morning, from Wellington, with the English maii, we are enabled to lay the following items of news before our readers : (by electric telegraph.) The Bluff, June 19, BTO p.m. The s.s. South Australian has arrived with Adelaide telegrams of English news up to 12th June. The Madras encountered severe weather iu the Sound, and had a narrow escape, seas breaking right over her. Will probably be detained thirty hours. Loudon, April 27 (Reuter.) Large withdrawals of gold from Bank of England for remittance to the Continent. The Redistribution of Seats Bill brought before Parliament disfranchises fourteen boroughs by grouping together, and thus saves' 49 seats. The redistribution gives 26 to counties, 16 to boroughs, and 7 to Scotland.
