AKHITAL OF THE S.S. STAE OF THE SOUTH, 'rite s.s. Star of, the South, Captain William . Bendall (the arrival of which vessel wo briefly noted in our last), left Napier on the 'evening of Wednesday, 23rd ult., and had fine weather until making Cape Runaway. Afterwards had strong W.S.W. winds, and put into Hicks’s Bay, short of fuel, on the 24tk, at II p.m. Remained at anchor there until 3 a.m. on the 26th, and had strong S.W. winds to the Gulf, arriving at the Tamaki at 7 a.m. on the 27th. Having discharged, went up the harbor to coal, and take in cargo for Napier. Loft Auckland at 9 p.m. on Monday, the 2Sth ult.. Experienced fine weather throughout the. passage, and arrived at the anchorage in the roadstead at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 30th ult., and entered the Iron Pot at 6 a.m. on . Thursday, the 31st. Captain Bendall reports having, on his upward trip, seen the new schooner Aspasia,' of Auckland, on the 24th ult.,’ten miles' to the southward of the East Cape, bound to Lyttelton. No vessels were seen on the downward trip. AEKIVAL OP THE SUSANNAH BOOTH. The brigantine Susannah Booth, Capt. Willing, •frotn-Newcastle with coal, arrived in the roadstead -- on -Friday- last, after a passage of 13 days. Since her arrival she has. been lying in the roadstead there being too much-sea on the bar for her to venture coming inside. It will be remembered ; the Susannah Booth was the vessel that con--veyed the “ notorious Mrs Hinder” from Svdnev to Hokitika. AEEIYAL OP THE SCHOONER QUEEN. The schooner Queen, Captain Loverock, left Auckland on the 23rd May ; arrived at Wangapoa on the 24th. Took in 30,000 feet of limber, arid 3,000 shingles; .and sailed for Napier on the29th rounded the East Capo at 6 a.m. on the 31st. Same day, called in at Awanui, where she landed some cargo, and one passenger ; and sailed again in the evening. Brought up iii the ‘roadstead aboift Moon, on the 2nd June, ■ • Poverty Bay, on the 31st hit., sighted the cutter Hercules bound for Auckland, with sheep on deck.
AERTVAX OF THE S.S. CIATTD HAMILTON. P., N.Z., and A.8..M. Co.’s B,s. Claud Hamilton, Captain Facier, left Wellington at 5-16 p.m. on Friday Ist inst., and brought np in the roadstead at N apier at 3 p.m. ‘on the 2nd. She steamed for Auckland at noon yesterday. •• - IIISCEXTiANEOtTS. The Shelbueke. —It will be seen by advertisement elsewhere that the above vessel will leave for bydney thia day. . The St. Kiiua. —-This steamer was to have left for the Chatham Islands on" Saturday last, but she still rernaiui in the Iron Potj and we hear that ahe will not now leave till Tuesday. ' r Thane.—The above steamer arrived at Hokitika on the 24th May.
