Sib Cuables Barling,— The late Governor of Victoria, Sir Charles -Darling, K.C.8., visited the Sydney University yesterday, accompanied by Captain Dumaresq and Mr T. Icely. The distinguished visitor -was received by the Hon. E. JJeas 'Thompson, C.B.,the Chancellor of the University. Sir Charles visited the great hall, the library, ilia class-rooms, and the museum of the above named institution, and appeared to be very well pleased with all that was brought under his observation—especially in the hall and in the museum.—Sydney Morning Herald, 16th May. Pasturage Rents in.Cantebbuet.—The Press of the4th says:—“Weunderstand that theamount of rent received up to yesterday for the ensuing year, for the various runs in. the Province, amounted to, in round numbers, £34,000.”
