Feom this district we have intelligence to Saturday, the 12th, but there does not appear to he much stirring at present. On Tuesday, the Btb, a party of Ngatiporus, under the chief Morgan, and numbering about one hundred, arrived at Turauganui overland from Waiapu, and received a grand ovation from the friendly natives at the latter place. Next day the party of Ngatiporus proceeded to the camp of the Forest Hangers, distant about ten miles from Wilson’s Redoubt. From thence it is supposed they will come back to Tamihana’s pah. On the afternoon of Thursday, 3rd instant, a party of thirty-five H.B. Volunteers and Military Settlers, under Major Fraser, arrived at Turanganui overland from Wairoa. They left the latter place on the evening of Wednesday, the 25th ult. Further particulars with regard to this journey wilFappcar in our next.
