The cutter Betsy, Bushel, master, from Auckland via the Coast, arrived ncre early on Tuesday morning last, 10th April, the left Mercuiy Bayou Wednesday, 4th inst, and hid fine weather tul hounding Portland Island, which she fl:d, in company with the schooner Saucy Lass, on the night of X'riflay, the 6tb. ’ Shortly after it began to blow very bird from Vt.S.W.; next morning had her jib tom to ribbons in the gale, which, combined with the fact of the wind still coutiuuiug, compelled Capt. Bushel to run tor Wangawai, where she lay till the evening of Sunday, Bth Inst, when she lett for Napier. Wind still continued to blow very riioug trom a westerly direction; biit she managed to come to her anchorage early on the morning of Tuesday last. She brings a large cargo of sawn timber and • Angles, consigned to Mr J. LeQuesue. The schooner Clyde, Capt. Cheshire, left Wangapoa on Thursday, of u April. Ji ad strong S.W. winds and fine weather luuu arriving off Poverty Bay on Saturday, 7th inst. On the cub it blew veiy hard from S S.W, which compelled her to run to IVangawahi for shelter. Remained there but four hours—the wind veering round to N.W, From Portlard island bad strong w.s.w. winds, and arrived in the roadstead at if o'clock on the night of Monday, 9th inst, Ea.crcd the Iron Pot on Tuesday, at noon. The schooner Q .een was to load tor Napier alter the Clyde. - The Govs nment steam vessel 6t. Kiida arrived in the harbor from Poveriy Bay, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday last, with 93 Hau-hau prisoners for the Chatham Islands. The St. Kiida, which left hire late on Friday evening last, experienced fine weather during the trip with the exception of a few hours of strong southerly wind during her downward passage with a very heavy tea off Portland Island. Wo understand that she leaves again this afternoon for the purpose of bringing dews another instalment of Ban-ban i r - isnrn.
