AUCKLAND. IiIVE STOCK M A E K ET. Me Bucklanb’s report for week ending March 16. The Haymarket on Saturday last was well filled with horse stock of every description, and for which there was a steady inquiry; nearly all offered were sold, best draught bringing from £29 to £55; medium draught, £l2 to £2O; unbroken draught stock, two and three years old, from £l2 to £23 10s ; inferior riding-horses, from £4, but wellplaced and well-bred animals sold freely, bringing from £2l to £4O each. Second-hand carts and drays brought from £3 10s to £ls. Fodder was in usual supply, and with no alteration in price—about 70s the ton. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, a larger than usual muster of store cattle met with a ready salo at lull rates. On Wednesday, at the Fanmure Bridge, there was a numerous attendance. For the horses there was not much inquiry, and after tho first three were sold the sale of the remainder was postponed. Carts, harness, and sundries sold freely. The ketch Folly brought £l5O. The barges were unsold, and a portion of the heaviest machinery, for which no oiler was made. The punt brought £0 os; chain, £4 10s ; and boats, from £3 log to £5 13s About 15,000 feet second quality timber brought from os Gd to Ts tbo 100 feet. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there were not many store cattle penned. Fat cattle Were pieutiuil, and dull of sals; prices were lower 2s (id lac looms. fat sheep pons were well tilled, and late fates were freely given; a pen of lougwoolledewc lambs brought 37s each. Not many fat pigs penned, and those were easier in price, but score pigs were Li request, and brought nigh rates—slips, three months old, bringing 23s each. Messes Hun-tee & Co.'s Deport for week ending March 13. Tfe have toreport that provincial fattened cattle have fully maintained the prices that have been ruling for the last six weeks. Best qualities about 45s the lOOiba; second quality, 40s; one superior bullock brought £27155, another £23. The market was well supplied. Full grown store cattle sold freely at high prices—from £lt) to £i3 each. Three-year-olds fetched from £9 to £lO, Springing hr-lfors are selling high, and arc very scarce in the market. Dairy cows are in great-'demand, and market barely supplied; prices range very high from £ls to £2olos each. The demand for all daecripUous of store stock continue* good.

Sheep Market.— I There was a full market of fat sheep. Portion of the cargo ex Beautiful Star, from Napier, sold from 20s to 21s each. Some prime qualities of merino ewes Drought as high as 31s each, we consider the prices good. A lot of half-bred ewes brought 31s each. Otahuhu Sale.—We sold remaining number of Napier sheep at this market. They brought 21s and 22s each. There was a good muster of store cattle and dairy cows. They sold freely and about the same rates as Newmarket. Horse Market.—There was a fair market of horses, hut mostly of inferior stock. Good draught horses are still In good demand, and bring high prices. The following rates have ruled during the week:—Provinjial fattened cattle, 455; store cattle, full grown. £lO Sheep Market.—Some prime merinos brought 335 : me. dmm do., 24s to 28s; merino stores brought 23s to 245. Ho»cS Market.- Heavy draught, 35s to 43s • medium draught, £25 to £35; hacks, £ls to £2O.
