WHY IS WAIROA not a POLLING PLACE ?
[To the Editor of the Hawke’s Bay Times.] Ste, How comes it that for our Napier side of Hawke’s Bay province there arc only four pollingplaces advertised, while for Clive side there are sis ? The Napier district is much larger than the Clive one, and then as to the number of electors, they are two to one. There are three acquaintances of mine all now at Wairoa at work, who, with myself, intend voting for Mr Colenso, but howare they to cater their votes I should like to know? Come on to Mohaka or Napier? That will never do. I think there must be a whole lot of voters at Wairoa ; why, may I ask, is that not a pollingplace ? Just look at Hampden and Porangahau, and again at Mr M'Lean’s wool-shed at Maraekakaho. I say what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Should not this be looked into a bit?—l remain, &c., iEIiECXOIt Wairoa, 20th February, 1866.
