VICTORIA. In the new Victorian Parliament the disposition of party is as follows:—Ministerial, l»8; Opposition, 20. The elections in and around Melbourne have been in favor of Ministerial candidates. A little excitement was displayed at some of the polling booths, but no breach of the peace occurred. A violent boiler explosion took place on the morning of January 27tb, at the Band of Hope Company’s mine. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. (By Electric Telegraph.) Adelaide, 29th Jan. The Bishop of Adelaide, with family, leaves for England by next month’s mail steamer. Ho expects to be absent about eighteen months. An address was presented to him by the synod to-day. The Ellen Lines, from Northern Territory, is anxiously looked for, being some time overdue.
