ARRIVAL OF THE P.S. HUNTRESS. The Government paddle-steamer Huntress, Captain John li. Stalker, returned from Wairoa on Friday last, after a very good run of five hours and a few minutes. She left Napier at 330 p.m. on Wednesday, the 31st ult., having on board No. S Company of the 12th Regiment, and the following passengers ;—Capt. Crawha'd (in command of detachment), Lieutenants Dawson and Dooner, and AssistantSurgeon Arden, lI.JI.’s 12th Regiment; Mr and Mrs Carter Messrs Edwards, Campbell, Shirley, and Copperwater. At 10-30 p.m. the Huntress anchored oif the Wairoa River having experienced stiff North-east breeze after leaving Ahuriri Roads. Passed three schooners beating to the eastward during the passage. At 7 o’clock on the morning of Thursday, the Ist inst, crossed the bar, and at 7-30 am. disembarked troops at the Stockade, Clyde. On Friday, 2nd Instant, at 6 a.m.. left Clyde; crossed the bar at 8 a.m.; and arrived at Napier at 1-10 p.m. Passengers:—Mrs Anderson, Mrs Baxter, Messrs Riddell, Campbell, HoUyman. Shirley, and Copperwater. There is no news of any interest from Wairoa. MISCELLANEOUS. The P., N.Z., and AR.II. Co.’s s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp, is duo from Auckland on Tuesday next, the 6th Inst. The N.Z.S.N. Co.’s s.s. Queen, (or other boat) is due front Southern Ports on Monday (this day) the sth instant.
