ARRIVAL OF THE P.S. HUNTRESS. The Government paddle steamer Huntress, Captain John 1. Stalker, left Napier at 11 a.m. on Monday, 15th instant, and arrived olf the Wairoa River at 6-30 p.m.; attempted to take the bar, but finding the tide running out too strong, cast anchor outside for the night. Next morning, about 4 o’clock, crossed the bar in safety, and steamed about a mile aud a-half; during the day discharged cargo and received on board five Hau-hau prisoners, taken at the late engagement near Waikare Moana. Having received on board mails, despatches, Ac., prepared to leave for Napier on the evening of Wednesday, 17tb inst., and crossed the bar in a very creditable manner at 7-30 p.m., and made the run down to Napier in six hours—anchoring in the outer harbor at 1-30 a.m. ou Thursday, 13th inst., having experienced head wind all the way. She entered the iron Pot at 7 turn. Passengers; Mr W. S. Baxter, the native chiefs Kopuaad Paora Apatu, and five Hau-hau prisoners.
