THE DELVEE’S SONG. mHAT are rlcli men’s toys to my wealth of Joys In the beauties that round me lie. While I reap delight from the day and night. And pleasure from earth and shy ? And the flowers that shine with their tints divine O’er the light green garment of Spring, Yield me greater delight than the diamonds bright On the costly rohes of a king. And gladness springs upon summer’s wings, And flows from the autumn’s store; And there’s joy sublime in the thunder’s chime. And the strong-voiced tempest’s roar. For I feel and know that here below The High and Lofty One Converses with me through flower and tree. And shadow and shining sun. And my faith is strong in a time when wrong Shall be winnowed from God’s good things— When worth shall soar (to be trodden no more) To the realm of the King of Kings. H Fletcher.
