The Monthly Customs Receipts for the Quarter ending 31- 1 December, 1865, -were as follows; £ 8, d. October 2,261 12 4 November 2,523 2 7 December 1,844 9 8 Total Quarter's Receipts 6,629 4 7 AUCKLAND, LIVE STOCK MARKET. M& Bees land's report for week ending December 29. At tbs Hay market, on Saturday last, hay was plentiful, and low in price. Maize was in better request: high rates were obtained; it brought from 5s 6d to 6s 9d bushel. No improvement in the price of horse stock, and uot many were sold. , . . „ „ „ The cattle sale on Thursday consisted principally of fat stock, There was rather a largo market of well fatted cata+ first last week’s rates were obtained, but prices lowered as the sale proceeded about 5s loulh; A full market of fat lambs sold quickly—at an advance over late markets, best quality bringing from 31s to 32s each. Fat sheep were in short supply, and advanced in prife from 2s to 5s head. Ca.ves were scarce, and sold high. P.g» were in moderate supply, and maintained their late high prices, particularly those of sma;l sue. He tsns Hunter & Co.’s Report for week ending Dec. 29. We have to report that there has not heenagreat amount Of business Cone this week, in consequence of the holidays. Fat Cattle.—We had our sale on Wednesday instead of Monday: prices were fully a pound to Unity shillings a bead higher than lasr week’s rates. There was a fair number of lat cattle in the market; all to hand were sold. The number of dairy cows in the market were small, but prices were fully maintained. (Stork Cattle— There was not a large market of this class of stock, but all to hand sold reaaiiy. The demand is good for young store cattle aud for half fat cattle. Siikes Market. —There was a good show of fat sheep in the market. Brices were rather higher than last week; all to hand were sold. There were very few lambs in-the m.r ef. Horse Market, —There was a large show in the market on Saturday last, of heavy draught, light harness, and saddle horses, but sales were difficult to effect, and prices low; the oniy description that sold readily were low-priced h cks. Tue following are the quotations for the week: —Fat Cattle (first quality), sus to sos per 1001 b; dairy cows, £l2 to £ls ; store stock (yea;lings), £3 to £4; two-year-old, £6 to £8; sheep (stores), its to 20s; fat sheep, 30s to 3£s; haiflat ditto, 23s to 265. 1: ones: H acks, £l2 to £2O; light harness ditto. £l3 to £25, draught horses (heavy), £ w to £SO; medium ditto, £2O to £3O; hay, £5 to £6 per ton; maize, 6,9 dto Cs.
