_ Eitsign Jenkins’ Body Found.— The schooner Nautilus, Captain Senior, arrived in port yesterday, having on board the body of Ensign Jenkins, 18th Knynl Irish, who, as announced in our last, was drowned at Patea on the ISth inst. It appears that the body was found by a man nf the Commissariat Transport Corps, on Thursday last, floating on the Patea river. After being placed in a suitable coffin it was shipped on board the Nautilus —there being no steamer then at Patea—and sent to Wanganui for interment, Lieutenant Briggs in charge. The Nautilus left Patea on Friday last, and through adverse winds could not cross the Wanganui bar until yesterday. The mortal remains of tins lamented young' officer will be interred in the Wanganui cemetery beside that of his equally unfortunate and lamented friend, Lt. Lawson, 18th Koyal Irish, at 5 p.m. this day,—■ Wanganui Times, 26th December.
