Commercial Intelligence.
Times Office, Monday Morning. " k are gratified to note a decided improvement in the state of Napier trade, consequent upon the fine weather and the constant arrival of the season’s clip of wool from the country. This is now rapidly coming into town ; and as might he expected, gives a great impetus to the Napier trade. Another marked feature is the improvement in the attendance at Auction Sales of late which has been noticeable, where, although prices have generally ruled low we have in several cases seeu full value offered for marketable goods. The last sale of this description was probably the best that has been held for some time past. We allude to that which occurred on Wednesday last, the 13th inst of the freehold property of Mr T. E. King, and his furniture and effects. The following are the prices realised:—i-acre subdivision suburban land, £36; 1 ditto, £29; house and sll akespeare-road, £260; furniture and effects, about £2OO; —which, on the whole, is considered as satisfactory prices.
The Sunbeam is fast filling with wool for her homeward trip, and will have immediate despatch.
