GOLD INTELLIGENCE FROM THE GREY.

ARRIVAL OF THE WALLARY WITH 14,750 OUNCES Ob' GOLD. GREAT PROSPECTS OP THE GREY GOLDFIELDS. (From the Nelson Examiner, 12th December.) The steamer Wallaby arrived from the Grey last evening, with 14,750 ounces of gold, being the largest quantity ever brought up in one steamer from the West Coast. The Bank of New Zealand and the Bank of New South Wales were each the shippers of 6,000 ounces, and the remaining 2,750 ounces were shipped by the Union Bank of Australia. Tiie Grey River Argus, of Saturday last, speaking of the district, says:—“Truth will out, and the Grey river district will yet astonish many. The escorts tell this tale, and will bear comparison, when the amount of population is taken into account, with the palmiest days of Bendigo and its boasted returns.”
