TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMES. Siß. —I observe that Mr C olenso's bitter enemy has again availed himself of the columns of your contemporary to vent his spite, and try if it he possible to do that gentleman an injury in the eyes of his constituents. This venomous individual must know that the proposed Lexicon wus affirmed by a former Ministry and Parliament; and the House of Representatives, taking action before its close for the commencement of the work, is only fulfilling a plain duty. Opinions may differ as to the need or utility of the work, hut if the Parliament has decided in its favor, and Mr Colenso is the fittest man fo> the work fas no one denies), it will be better for that party to cease to attack him. Further, if everybody had been in their places on the night in question, Mr Ormond could have had his say against the measure if he had thought proper to do so. —I am, tyc., ARGUS.
