The Bluff, September 3, 5 p.m. . The Alhambra left Melbourne at fi p m. on 29th August. She arrived to-day at IT3O am. The hon. Dr. Macadam, who was.a passenger for Dunedin, and was suffering from nervous debility when he came on board, died on the 2nd instant, at 6 a m- John Drummond Kirkland, Dr Macadam’s assistant, was also on board. The Alhambra sailed at 4‘30 p.m. f Dunedin, September 3. The Queen arrived from North; The sittings in the Supreme Court have commenced, but nothing important has at present transpired. September 4, 4 - 31 p.m. The bushrangers, Alfred Davis audJam.es Evercste, were sentenced to-day, in the Supreme Court —the former to sixteen years, aud the latter to six years’ penal servitude. Riordan will be tried to-morrow for arson. The Alhambra has arrived from the Bluff, and the Egmout sailed for the Borth. September 5, 4 - 57 p.m. The Alhambra aud Wellington have sailed for Lyttelton. The ship Kedar, from London, is at the Heads. September 6, 4 55 p.m. At the inquest yesterday, on the body of the late Dr.' Macadam, the verdict was, “ Died by the visitation of God.” In the case of Riordan, for arson, Mr Wilson was addressing the jury for the defence.
