I, Donald M'Lean, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby proclaim that 1a Sale of Crown Lands will take place at the Crown Lands Office, Kapler, on FRIDAY, Septembers, 18G5, at Koon precisely, when the allotments of Land specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, except such as may be reserved under the provision hereinafter mentioned, and which have been duly certified by the Commissioner of Crown Lands on the application of intending purchasers as being unavailable for agricultural purposes, will be put up to public auction at the upset price of 5s per acre, in accordance with the Land Regulations of the 4lli March, 1853, and the additional Land Regulations lor the amendment and extension of tho said Regulations recommended by the Superintendent and tho Council for the Province of Wellington (Session 2) to the Governor., If at any time during tho sale it may appear to the Commissioner of Crown Lands beneficial or expedient for tho public service to reserve from sale either of the sections specified in the said Schedule, or to vary the order in which they are to be put op, he i» hereby authorised to do so. Any householder or other person who shall by surety or otherwise give sufficient security for tho repayment of passage money, shall be entitled, af-‘ ter signing promissory notes for the amount of such passage, to apply to the Immigration Agent at Napier, giving the name and address ofthe person or persons ivnjir they des.ie to bring out, and on so doing, the Provincial Agent in London will bo instruct*' 7 to provide a passage to Napier,, giving for eac.i Immigrant at a rate not exceeding £lB per adult. Promissory Notes for a ’ike amount will also have to be given by intending Immigrants to tho.. Provincial Agent in London. • ■ ■ If the person coming, or his Agent, accepts of a passage and refuses or neglects to-avail: thereof after notice has been given in writing that the vessel is to sail, the party so doing shall be liable to forfeit half of the passage money.
