We make the following extracts from the Evening Post of the 15th : The Star of the South arrived at noon to-day from Nelson. She brings no news. On Monday last, R. Pharazyn, Esq., was elected for Rangitikei a member of the House of Representatives. There was no opposition. in another column will be found Mr. Edward Pearce’s address to the electors of Wairarapa. Mr Pearce soiucits the honor of representing the district in the General Assembly, and expresses his opinions favorable to the Weld Ministry. He is opposed by Mr Henry Bunny, a gentleman resident at Featherston, who has been in the field for about a week. The Wanganui Times will make its first appearance on Tuesday next.
