GAEDENEE’S CALENDAR FOE MAY. Take np beet roots, carrots, parsnips, &c.; sow in a warm "border a first crop of early frame peas, add also a crop of dwarf-growing magazon beans ; continue to plant cabbage plants for cabbaging and col wortstie up endive and lettuce; clear the beds of winter and spring onions ; sow a small crop of carrots for early use: dress the beds of rhubaib, artichokes, and asparagus—to the latter apply salt, if obtainable; cover up sea kale to bleach. This is the best season Cor planting ont fruit trees; sow at this time seeds and nuts of plum, cherry, almond, medlar apple, pear, quince, walnuts, <fcc.; sow radish, mustard, cress, and spinach; strike geraniums, China roses, &o. from cuttings; part herbaceous;plants;, finish planting Cape bulbs; take up dahlia ioots, and keep them in dry sand; dig the ground; make new'plantations; plant thorns for hedgerows, and prune and trim those growing. Prune gooseberries and currants; if leaves be shed, transplant fruit trees.
