AUCKLAND. Daily Southern Cross Ofilce, Saturday Evening. Messrs Ridings and Dowden had a sale of watches and Jewellery at their stores to-day, when middling prices were obtained.

Messrs Harris and Turner sold a quantity of provisions, oilmen’s stores, &c., to-day, at good price®. At Messrs Eaton and Dewolf s sale to-day, apples brought from GJd to 7Jd per lb; onions, 3?,d per lb; maize, damaged, 4s 6d per bushel; Hobart Town jams. 7d per lb; honey, 4d per lb ; potatoes for pigs, 2s per cwt. At Mr-Buckland's yard the racing horse Paganini was exposed for sale, but was not disposed of: the thoroughbred entire Eaton was sold to Mr HaUtead, veterinary surgeon, for £lO. At Hunter and Co.’s the racehorse Kathleen was put up hut withdrawn at £55. Mr If. S. Andrews reports that he held a sale of cattle at Stokes’ Point on the 12th instant: that there were about flftv-scvcn head of horned stock and two horses. G 10,1 stock fetched fair prices; bet as the majority of those present were sellers, not buyers, it was agreed to postpone the next sale until the Provincial Government stockvards were erected, by which it is understood the Steam Ferry Company will have a punt for the purpose of transportin'* cattle from these sales to Auckland. °
