Take notice, that samuel proctor, of Pohui, in the Province of Hawke’s Bay, Sawyer, having by a Deed dated the twentyseventh day of October, 1864, and made between the said Samuel Proctor, of the one part, and us the undersigned, Richard Maney, James Hallett, and Robert Breingan, of the other part for the consideration therein mentioned, bargained, sold, and assigned unto us, the said Richard Maney, James Hallett, and Robert Breingan, absolutely all the timber, posts, rails, and planks belonging to him; and also all timber belonging to him, wheresoever the same might be, and over which he had any right, claim, or interest. All persons purchasing timber of the said Samuel Proctor, or who have purchased timber of the said Samuel Proctor, are hereby required to pay the amount of such purchases to Mr Richard Maney, of the Meanee Hotel, who is alone authorised to give receipts for the same. And further, that all persons after this notice paying any money to the said Samuel Proctor or any other person than the said Richard Maney for timber, posts, rails, &c., will be held liable and accountable for any sum or sums of money paid for the same.
