The Customs officers stationed at Moamo have seized the Echuca pnnt for conveying a case of medicines and perfumery across the Murrav from the Victorian side. The mails- only have* been allowed to cross on sufferance until instructions have been received from the Customs authorities in Sydney, ' ‘ The Shenandoah enlistment case terminated today. The Jury returned a verdict that the prisoners were guilty of attempting to enlist in the Confederate ; service. This decision was characterised as an unjust verdict, but the judge overruled the objections raised, and sentenced Charley to ten days’ imprisonment. Mackenzie, who pleaded guilty, was sentenced to a similar punishment, and the boy Walmsley was discharged. Adelaide. March 13. Advices received from the North-western districts give startling accounts of mortality amongst sheep through the want of water and scarcity of feed. The Ministerial difficulty is not yet surmounted. It is reported that Mr Ayers will join as Chief Secretary. His Excellency has granted to Mr Reynolds further time to complete the formation of the Ministry. Accounts from the mining districts are satisfactons monthly, yielding 20 per cent, pure copper ; tory. It is stated that the Moonta yields 1800 and Wallaroo the same quantity, but the quality inferior, from 5 to 7 per cent There have been several transactions in wheat at 9s per bushel.
