AUCKLAND. WEEKLY SUMMARY. Friday evening. There has been a moderate amount of business done during the week, the arrival of three English ships with immigfaatß contributing to increase the demand for supplies. Two good trade sales have been held within the last few days: one of wines and spirits and another of drapery, both of which were well attended, and at which good prices were obtained. There is no change to note in quotations. The cutter Stag was sold at auction yesterday hy Mr. S. Cochrane, for the sum of £SOO. The Government punt, for driving piles, wag also disposed of for Crqia, April 1. LIVE STOCK MARKET. March 31. ilfr BucUnruTa Report.— At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, horse stock was in improved request, and a large number of sales were effected. Those ex Prince Alfred brought from £43 to £55; the unbroken draught stock, from £32 to £49. Bye mixed grass seed, from Is G d to 9s the bushel; taret, 15s the bushel; alsyke clover, 14rf to Jsrf; white clover 12d; red clover, 7ci to lOd ft. At the Triangle there was a good muster of cattle and a numerous attendance. Bidding was more general than for some time past, and prices rallied 10s 'f - head. At N ewmarket there was a short supply of store eattle and dairy cows. Fat cattle wepp in average supply: prices were higher. Small choice cattle brought fully 50s, and the average of the market about 45s the 100 ft. Store sheep were iu better request. Those by the Ashley brought 31s to 22s each. Inferior half-Vred ewes 23»eaeh; lambs, 12s 6d each: fat sheep sold at improved prices, averaging 7d ft. STOCK AtiD SHARE MARKET. There had been a slight improvement in the Sharemarket, but without any material change of figures. OTAGO. A tolerably fair amount of business has been done throughout the day; and a good demand appears to have set in for suitable goods for shipment, both to the Northern provinces and the West Coast. Flour has been placed in moderate parcels, at £23 108 to £24 for Chilian, at which latter price holders were firm at closing. A parcel of Chilian not guaranteed, was sold out at £2llos and £22. for shipment. The sales of South Australian continue very small. ' ILcon had bean inquired for, and some parcels placed at , Ojii for Ooey's; holders of Sinclair’s ask llirf. Hams much wanted, and very few coming to hand.
