Gardeners’ Calendar.— Plant young cabbages to come in for coleworts and heading; earth up’celery for bleach ng; sow small salads of different kinds ; boa and thin tur nips six inches apart; make mushroom beds; make a strawberry plantation at the end of the month; commence planting bulbs; keep the borders neat by cutting out rambling shoots, dead flower stems and littet; put sticks to weak young plants; strike honeysuckle cuttings. Much must be done at this season; dig immediately crops arc gathered—the dryer the better, as certain soils cake after being dug when wet; lot it bo rough and it will be ready to be replanted after the early autumn rains. Biennial and perennial seeds may be sown, and those of indigenous trees and shrubs.— Bull's Wellington Almanac.
