LATEST INTELLIGENCE.
The arrivals of the Queen from Auckland, and the Lord Ashley from the South, n Saturday evening, have put us in possession of our usual files. There is but little news of importance to note, and the principal items of Colonial and English news will be found transferred to our columns.
Prom Wanganui we learn that there lied been further fighting at the Waitotara, between the friendlies and rebels. In a skirmish that took place on the 16th, four of the latter were killed. On the ISth General Cameron with one llionsnn i en had reached Patea, and occupied a position there. Mr George Roberts had been fired upon whilst riding into town. The militia duties are heavy and caused great complaints. Prom Wellington we learn that Mr. Borlaso was contesting for the Superintendence with Dr. Featherston.
