TER NORTHAM. NEWS TO JANUARY 2. (From tlie Sydney Morning Herald .') - Adelaide, Friday, 8 p.m.' The Eangatira arrived at Glenelg at 2 p.m., after a passage of 117 hours from the Sound. The long passage was occasioned by the breaking of her machinery on the journey from the Sound. The upward "passage occupied 99| hours. The P. and 0. steamer Bombay, after a very fine passage, reached the Sound at six p.m. on the 31st ultimo. Passengers all well. The P. and 0. steamer Northam,...Capt. Skottowe, arrived at the Sound at 1-20 p.m. on the sth inst. She left Galle at 8’45 a.ra. on the 22nd January. Captain Nelson, R.N., in charge of the mails. GENERAL SUMMARY. r 2oth December. Extensive forgeries and frauds have been discovered in the Savings’ Bank department of the General Post Office. Officers and witnesses are en route to Australia to arrest absconders.
