SECOND RACE —Ist Prize, £...—; 2nd Prize, £...—For Square Stenicd Boats. No restrictions with regard to canvas; third boat to save its stake. Three bona fide entries for both sailing races, or no, public money will be given. The Committee reserve the power of determining if the boat* entering be sufficiently matched. An allowance of one minute and a-half per foot in length of keel will bo made in bothsailing race. Course For Sailing BoatsStart from a flag-post to be erected near the pumice stone bouse, Western spit; then in a Westerly direction to the Southward of a Buoy midway in tlie direction of Poraite, round a Buoy to be moored off Poraite; from thence in a Northerly direction, keeping the Watchman Rock on the starboard hand, round a Buoy moored off the Native Island, North end of Inner Harbor; there from to the South, keeping all the Spits on the larboard hand, and rounding the midway Buoy before returning past .the starting point. Course For’Bowmg3°atsStart from same point as for sailing boats. Four oared boats round the Buoy moored off Poraite, and back to starting point. Pair-oarod boats and Skiffs from the same starting point, round the Buoy moored midway in the direction of Poraite, and back to starting point. Regulations. Any boat or boats not rounding beacon or beacons, as directed, shall forfeit all claim to race or races. Any boat wilfully fouling another boat shall forfeit all claim te race or tacos. All disputes to bo settled by the Umpire and two of the committee. All boats to be entered for the sailing races shall carry distinguishing flogs, one foot square flying at the main. All rowing boats shall carry distinguishing flags, eight inches square, at their bows. No boat shall be allowed to take in or throw out ballast of any description after starting. No oar to be used in sailing races, except for stearing. The sigpal for starting to be the dropping of a flag; and ihc signal to racall the boats, in event of an unfair start, to be the firing of a gun. Three boats to start,-or no race. Sailing boats on the port tack to give way to those on the starboard tack, or be disqualified. Boats running free to keep away for those on the wind, or be disqualified. Protests to be made to the Umpire, in writing, within an hour of the conclusion of the race. All boats to pay ten shillings entrance money. Non-subscribers of as much as ten shillings to the Regatta Fund, before entering a boat, to pay one guinea. Entries for all races at the Regatta to be made between eight and con on the evening of Monday, 20lh March, at-Mr. Murray’s, Harbor Master. A flag will be hoisted at nine a.m., at the starting point, on the day of the Regatta ; if not hoisted (lie Regatta will be postponed until the following day, the the Committee reserving to themselves the power of postponing the Regatta should the weather be unfavorable. The Committee also reserve to themselves the power, upon the day of Regatta, of curtailing the length of course, if found necessary. By Order of the Committee, H. G. MORECROFT, Hon.
