I DONALD M'LEAN, Superintendent of the 5 Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby proclaim and notify that at noon on Saxueday, the 4th March, 1865, the Commissioner of Crown Lands will offer to public competition under the provisions of the Land Regulations now in force in this province, rural sections in the village of Wallingford, Eparaima, that are referred to in the Schedule hereunto annexed, and at the upset price mentioned therein. Immigration to Hawke’s Bay. PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. ALL PERSONS who may be desirous of bringing out Relations or Friends—or Settlors who wish to bring out Shepherds, Laborers, or Mechanics, to be selected by their correspondents in G-reat Britain and Ireland will be enabled to do so on the following terms. Any householder or other person who shall by surety or otherwise give sufficient security for the repayment of passage money, shall be entitled, after signing promissory notes for the amount of such passage, to apply to the Immigration Agent at Napier, giving the name and address of the person or persons whom they desire to bring out, and on so doing, the Provincial Agent in London will he instructed to provide a passage to Napier, giving for each Immigrant at a rate not exceeding £lB per adult. Promissory Notes for a like amount will also have to be given by intending Immigrants to the Provincial Agent in London. If the person coming, or his Agent, accepts of a passage and refuses or neglects to avail thereof after notice has been given in writing that the vessel is to sail, the party so doing shall be liable to forfeit half of the passage money. In the event of death on the voyage half only of the passage money shall be charged. The passage money is advanced in the first instance by the Provincial Government, subject to repayment in four equal half-yearly instalments of £4 10s. each, commencing from the date of arrival at Napier. I\/TEMPERS of the CHURCH OF ENGLAND are informed that Contributions towards the expense of Enlarging ST. JOHN’S CHURCH may be made through the Churchwardens, H. S. Tiffen and John Wilkinson, the Vestrymen, Messrs. Carver, Janisch, and Faulkner, —or either of the local Banks. A sum of about £250. in addition to the fund in hand and subscriptions in following list, will bo required to meet the estimated outlay.
