A Kew Idea. —An Australian shepherd writing home to his mother, says:—“ Good fat mutton is ■very plentiful here. I often wish I had a fork long enough, so that I might stick a piece on the end for your dinner.” A cobbles was furnished hy a classical acquaintance with a motto for his shop—“ Mem conitcia recti.” A brother Crispin on the opposite side of the street, attributing his neighbour’s success to his motto consulted a friend, and was advised to write up “ Men’s and Women’s console recti,” which sage advice he took, hut with what success is not recorded.
