EXTBAOKDIXAEY MANIFESTATIONS. —A long and interesting narrative, after going the round of the English press, has at length appeared in the papers of the colony. This is a pretended seance or exhibition to the general public of spiritual intercourse on the part of two brothers named Davenport and a Mr. Fay. We are very far from denying the truth of spiritualism, properly understood, but we are glad ,to be able to report the complete exposure of a party of jugglers wno under the pretence of a supernatural power, delude the public with tricks of legerdemain, and thus tend to bring sacred things into contempt, and aid the spread of scepticism and infidelity. We will now oniy add that the exposure has been most complete and satisfactory, and as the Hawke’s Bay public has. been treated to the narrative we will endeavour to find room in our next for theaayow.
