Rules; — Mares and Geldings allowed four pounds. All entries to be under sealed cover, and to be addressed to the Secretary, at Mr. J. Gill’s, Masonic Hotel, Napier, on or before Tuesday, 28th February, 1865, not later than 9 p.tn. Age of horses, and colors of riders, to be stated at time of entry. No person, who is not a Subscriber to the amount of two guineas, shall be allowed to enter a horsei Jockeys riding in any other colors than those named at time of entry, or wilfully making , a false start, will be fined one guinea, to be paid before the horse starts. The first race each day to start at twelve o’clock precisely. The bell to he rung a quarter of an hour before each race. Races to be run under the rules of the Newmarket Club. Three horses to start in each race, or no public money will be given.
