Dated, Melbourne , July 25 1864. 66 T\EAR SIR, —We found out that there has I / been a considerable trade doing k COUNTERFEITING YOUR PILLS. That j man, (whose name we know), made for a certak person a machine, rolling out One Hundred anc Fifty Pills at once. That labels were printed, anc despatched up the Country in great numbers, bi one Boulton (we are informed). He failedfjaboui three weeks ago, and the machine was offered tc a friend of ours for sale, which we suspect’ is ai work somewhere. What can we do for in this matter? Something should be done at once. I: ■we were sure you would approve of it, we would set the Detectives at work, and soon ferret the nest out. Wc arc &c. (Signed) “GORDON & GOTCH.” In many places abroad, the Government starcq; to the Medicines has lately been forged, and affixed to an immense quantity of spurious Oint ment and Pills, and sold to the public as my pre parations. Please to observe, therefore, that the words “HOLLOWAY’S PILLS AND OINTMENI LONDON,” besides being on the British Government Label as heretofore, are woven in the water-mark of eve ?y leaf of the Pamphlets, without which the Me dicine is not genuine, Also, be careful to observe that the address on the covers of the Pots, an: the labels of the Boxes, is “ 244, Strand, London,’ and that there is no initial before the name "HOLLOWAY.” Parties who may be defrauded by Vendors sel ling spurious “ Holloway’s Pills and Ointment,’ are invited to communicate the particulars to me or to Messrs. Gordon & Gotch, of Collin §-street Melbourne, when legal proceedings will be knme diatoly instituted against the ~ offenders, and at ample remuneration given to Informants for then trouble* and a pledge not to divulge their names (Signed) THOMAS HOjjLOWAY* London, 24th Sept., 186
