w o clip trie following from the ‘ Argus’ of the 21st ult. —“Roberts, the billiard champion, played his last match—at least for a considerable period—in Melbourne on Saturday evening last. It was very interesting, but the conclusion was scarcely expected, and redounded much to the fame of Lamb, our colonial champion, who, since his matches with Roberts, has picked up many crumbs of valuable experience. Lamb received GOO points, and did his best, but the skill and genius of his opponent—who made one break of over 130, ana several others of obout 70 and 80 brought the scores to —Roberts, 892 ; Lamb, 897. The latter then made a great effort, and scored a break of nearly 70. This and a mis-eue from Roberts, gave Lamb such an advantage that he was able to score the game when Roberts was only 13 behind. Roberts is about to leave for New Zealand, but probably, before* bis departure be will play a game at Sandhurst.” ’
