SEALED TENDERS will be received at this office up to noon on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 3, for the DELIVERY of COALS for the Huntress, steamer, on the Government Reserve, Eastern Spit, in quantities of from 50 to 100 tons. TENDERS will be received at this office up to noon on SATURDAY, the 12th day of DECEMBER next, from persons desirous of renting the Waipureku Ferry for the year 1865. The Ferry Punt will be kept in constant repair by the Provincial Government. The Ferryman will be required to be in attendance from sunrise throughout the year to nine o’clock p.m. in summer, and seven o’clock in winter, and will be authorized to collect tolls according to the undermentioned scale, viz.:— ; s d Bullock drays, each way 2 6 i 2or 3 Horse drays 1 6 1 Horse dray or cart 1 0 j Man and Horse 0 6 | Foot Passenger 0 3 Cattle, per head 0 1£ j Sheep, per head 0 Mail carriers, General Government officers, and Police when on duty Free. Parties tendering must state the rent they are j willing to pay for the Ferry House and Punt, for the year 1865 or until such time as the Bridge is j open for the traffic of drays, and namo two persons as sureties who will be prepared to enter into a j joint bond for £2OO for the due performance of the duties required, and for the delivery of the Ferry House and Punt at the end of thcjterm. PARTIES tendering for any of the above-men-tioned articles must specify in their tenders the names of their sureties, who will be bound conjointly in a bond for a regular supply of the article or articles they may engage to furnish. It shall be distinctly understood 'that ini all cases the articles are to be of the best description ; and should any bad or faulty articles be furnished by the contractor, no payment will be made for the same, and they will have to ' take, them ’ back at iheir own expense, and supply a good article in their place ; failing which, the Provincial Government may order them to bo procured at the expense of the contractor wherever they can be obtained. j All contracts whatsoever, entered into by the Provincial Government, are terminable by a three months’ notice in writing on either side.
