COMMERCIAL.
AUCKLAND. LIVE STOCK MARKET. —Week ending November 11. On Saturday last there was a large number of horses brought forward, bnt bidding was very slack, and about three-fourths of the number were withdrawn. Good draft brought from £35 to £53 each ; small hacks at nominal prices. On Wednesday the sale of Defence Force horses occasioned a large attendance; the bidding was spirited, and good prices ruled throughout. The prices ranged from £ll to £4B, and averaged about £24 each. The cattle market during the past week has been very full. Unfortunately the fatal lung disease has shown itself in several of our grazing paddocks, and prices for all descriptions of store cattle have receded fully 25 per cent., and for cattle in low condition 40 per cent. Fat stock has been crowded on the market in excess of demand, and lower rates have resulted.
