AMERICA.
By the Mari/ and Edith we have received San Francisco papers to the 12ih September. The war still clras;s its slow length along, and the news with respect to it is more than usually interesting as received through Culitornian media. The principal items are the attack on Mobile bv the Federals, the rumored capture of it, and the fearful explosion of the steamer Washoe , with great loss of life. The list of killed and injured as given in the Daily Alla California is very appalling. There have been several minor .engagements between the Federals and Confederates, and even highly colored us they are by Californian papers, the result shows that the advantage has been on the side of the Confederates. There is little reliance, therefore, to be placed on the boasting that the rebellion is on its last legs .—Southern Cross.
