THE COMMISSIONERS for the erection of Public Buildings hereby notify that (hey awarded the Premiums for the Designs submitted to them under the following mottoes, and are prepared to pay the amounts on application to them : I. FOR GOVERNMENT HOUSE : Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto IX (in a circle). v 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to motto “Yours in haste.” IX. FOR THE SUPREME COURT-HOUSE ; Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto “ Fiat J ustitia.” 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to the motto “Equity.” 111. EOR THE POST OFFICE AND CUSTOM HOUSE (COMBINED ) Ist Premium, of £2OO, to the motto “ In Hoc Signo Vinces.” 2nd Premium, of £IOO, to “ Light of other days.” On opening the letters of the sucoessful’competitors, ' Hie motto IX (in a circle) was found to be that of Mr. Rumsay, of Dunedin ; and “ Yours in haste,” Mr. Baston, of Hobart Town. The motto “Fiat Justitia,” Mr. Honey, of Sydney ; and “ Equity,” Mr. Clark, of Melbourne. The motto “In Hoc Signo Vinces,” Mr. Baston of Hobart Town ; and “ Light of other days” (no letter was found for this motto).
