Napier oct 10th 1864 to the governer Master governer zir ize as how you as got lots o Taters more then you zemes to no wot to do we zo as i got a bit o land an a lot o boys an gals but no taters for sead i thout as how you mite as wel sen i a few bags to set my bit o land we as to gee em all to them tnere rebbel natives, i think as how my boys an galls will be more grateful for um then them natives will for i ud think that you must a found out by now that they be a ungratefull lot o Nigers an master governer as i be quite out o Mony if youl be zo good as to tel our Zuperintendent jes to sen i as much mony as’ll pay a Chap for Planten the taters an put it down to the incidental expenses for byin land i shall be mitey glad i be master governer your obadient servant
