The following was found near the Post Office. The writer can have the original by applying at our office. Napier oct 10th 1864 to the governer Master governer zir ize as how you as got lots o Taters more then you zemes to no wot to do we zo as i got a bit o land an a lot o boys an gals but no taters for sead i thout as how you mite as wel sen i a few bags to set my bit o land we as to gee em all to them tnere rebbel natives, i think as how my boys an galls will be more grateful for um then them natives will for i ud think that you must a found out by now that they be a ungratefull lot o Nigers an master governer as i be quite out o Mony if youl be zo good as to tel our Zuperintendent jes to sen i as much mony as’ll pay a Chap for Planten the taters an put it down to the incidental expenses for byin land i shall be mitey glad i be master governer your obadient servant
